Maeuntang(or Mae-un tang) is a spicy -and flavory- fish soup from Korea. It is rich with fish, other seafood, various vegetables -from garlic to ginger- and Gochujang(Korean red chili pepper paste).
There is not one particular fish that should be used with this soup, so you can -and should- choose to your liking, but keep in mind that red snapper, sea bass, yellow corvina, codfish, croaker, pollock are generally preferred.
Fun fact: If you are going to have this soup with Hoe(raw food) at certain restaurants, you can enjoy your raw fish and afterwards your spicy fish soup will be made using the leftovers of the fish.
